Whatever the reason, from time to time I would give Ironsword another listen, and another, and another... I guess the riddle of steel was calling for me, but I was not yet true and pure enough. However, now I am absolutely into this awesome band and sworn to spread the word - The Iron's Word of IronSword Favorite track: Red nails.

Sam Virtusson Excellent return of the Lusitanian Warriors!! Very pleased with the new songs. Also the merchandise is amazing. This album sound powerful as hell! Favorite track: Tower of the elephant.

Ironsword, the Portuguese cult underground epic metal force, have finally revealed the first details about their upcoming album, Servants of Steel, to be released with Moonspell Fernando Ribeiro's powerhouse label Alma Mater Records on January 24th 2020.

Recorded at the Pentagon Audio Manufacturers with Fernando Matias in Lisbon, Portugal, the band teamed up with legendary producer Harris Johns (Helloween, Voivod, Kreator, Sodom), mixing the Barbarians’ new magnum opus! The result is beyond spectacular and it’s Ironsword like you never heard it before, with the same barbaric drive but with a top-notch sound that will take their and Epic Metal fans by storm!
Special guest: Bryan "Hellroadie" Patrick from the infamous Manilla Road.

"Servants of Steel" will not only signal how alive the Portuguese metal scene is, but also deliver a blistering Heavy Metal record the world of steel will need to hear, four years after the band's much-acclaimed None but the Brave record.

This... THIS is how you revive classic and traditional metal from the 80s while making it your own. I could rant and rave for a mini novel's worth of words about why this album is just... impossibility good. I've had to retract so much because of how long winded I got. So I can't leave a long enough review to say everything I want. But I will say this, I love this EP. It's a great little follow up to times, and has just enough of a dynamic shift in sound to prove that Smoulder isn't a one trick pony with their first album's formula. This one really plays up the 70s prog aspects (DUST and Manilla Road influences definitely shine through even harder here). It's still Smoulder, don't get me wrong. Just a different side in some ways, all of which are good. playfulpooka
